CVT Assembly

The CVT assembly as the parts table lists it: continuously variable transmission, pulley-and-steel-belt type.

Design diagram only, not a product photograph.

The assembly row

The parts table has one CVT assembly row: CVT Assembly (Continuously Variable Transmission), with the note pulley-and-steel-belt type. That note matters. It tells a buyer that this assembly family is defined by its pulleys and its belt, not by a gear set. The other assembly families in the same table, which this site does not describe in detail, use different mechanics, and this site does not borrow their descriptions for the CVT page.

An assembly is the complete unit. A buyer who asks for an assembly is asking for the whole working group, pulleys, belt or chain, cylinder and valve control included in the unit, rather than one replaceable row. A buyer who needs only one row should go to that row's page instead, because the price, the packing and the checking steps for a single part are not the same as for a complete unit, and the inquiry should say which one is meant.

What sits inside a CVT assembly, by the table

Inside the assembly, the named CVT-only rows are the pulley cylinder, the primary pulley, the secondary pulley, the belt, the chain where a chain-drive variant is meant, and the pulley set as a whole. The valve-body step motor is the CVT-linked control row. No other internal row is claimed on this page, because the table gives no further CVT-internal row, and this site does not invent one.

The company process documents describe a ten-step remanufacturing process, and step 6 of that process is one step that touches CVT assemblies directly: alongside bench testing of solenoids, sensors and valve-body assemblies, CVT units receive a dedicated pulley-cylinder pressure test, checking for internal leakage and pressure loss. That step is described in full on the pressure-test guide and summarised on the quality page. It is a process description from the company documents, not a guarantee about any single unit a buyer receives, and this page does not present it as one.

Before ordering an assembly, confirm in writing: the exact assembly row, whether the belt or the chain variant is meant, the quantity terms and the lead time. Do not assume a vehicle fit from the assembly name alone; this site carries no vehicle-fitment list.
